No, it can remain Florida, and Northern Florida can become Lower Alabama, like it was supposed to become in the 1800's when Alabama nearly bought it.

Northern Florida isn't as crazy. That is where most of the native Floridians live, who are just normal southerners. South Florida is where all the influx of northerners is, and that is where all the crazy shit goes down.

They're doing it wrong. It needs to be U shaped. Central Florida and Northern Florida are deep south. The east coast is full of transplanted northerners who balked at the idea of driving an hour and a half to work from Jersey every day. The west coast is full of retired union auto workers from the midwest, Canadian transplants, and a smattering of people from all over . Also, all of Florida is crazy. Florida Man would still totally be a thing.

I won't deny that(transplant from Alabama), but South/Central Florida definitely takes the cake. Think of North Florida as the slightly shady tourist trap each state has, that every local likes to avoid.

This. The central part of the peninsula down to around Okeechobee are Deep South (except for Orlando/Kissimmee/St Cloud). There are still pockets on the east coast but they're disappearing fast. I was stunned at what had happened to Vero Beach between 2007 when I left (to France then Montana) and when I came back last year.
